"A Destined Encounter" (宿命の出会い,   Shukumei no Deai) is the first episode of the Warrior of Love Rainbowman animated series. It is known to exist in the hands of at least one private collector in the form of a VHS recording, and as a digital file ripped from either the same recording, or one recorded by a different individual. At some point prior to 2022 the file was made available on a bootleg DVD, but it is not currently known when or how it was distributed. In 2022, a video recording of the DVD playing was uploaded to YouTube by a user known as "Tokyo Max Animation."

Plot

As a preview for the exciting action to come, before the episode proper begins, a clip of the series' final battle is shown first thing. Takeshi Yamato transforms into Rainbowman before summoning Rainbow Seven from Omiya laboratories. The mech is teleported to Rainbowman's location, and he imbues it with his power and consciousness before being attacked by the scythe-handed Devil Mecha Ganglas. The beast swipes at him before firing a beam of energy from its mouth. Rainbow Seven uses his Sword of Light and rushes forth to cleave into Ganglas' shoulder as it fires beams from its eyes at him. After staggering the Devil Mecha, Rainbow Seven uses the Rainbow Flash ability to blast Ganglas away, where it explodes. Rainbow Seven stands victorious before punching the air in celebration as a rainbow crosses the sky behind him.

The young Takeshi Yamato grapples an opponent at the National High School Wrestling Tournament and quickly slams him onto the mat. This victory, celebrated by his friends in the stands Gota Yamada, Yoko Omiya, and their younger siblings Shosuke Yamada and Jun Yamato, won him first prize in the competition. The victory is also observed by a mysterious woman in a large hat and trench coat. The group of friends return to Takeshi and Jun's mother Akiko's cafe KAIcoffee to celebrate, where the Yamada boys' parents arrive to congratulate Takeshi as well as bring him a celebratory basket of fruit. Takeshi later asks his mother for permission for him and Yoko to visit her father's laboratory, and as she sees the kids off, the group is watched by the mystery woman from the backseat of her car. As the kids run off, she tells her mysteriously blue-skinned driver to follow them. At Omiya labs, Takeshi and Yoko watch as a gigantic robot is being constructed. They are soon approached by Yoko's father Dr. Omiya, who briefly admires the bashful Takeshi's wrestling champion status before leaving to return to his work. Yoko jokes about what her father might think of her having a wrestler for a boyfriend, which causes Takeshi to playfully chase her around the control center. When the two realize they are being watched by annoyed scientists, they quickly and awkwardly excuse themselves before having a laugh about the incident.

As Takeshi walks home, he is approached by the mystery woman's car, which stops in front of him, allowing four blue-skinned thugs to emerge and attack him with knives and chains. After dodging some attacks, Takeshi vaults over the guard rail to battle the strange men on the riverbank, where he successfully tosses one thug into the water. The battle continues, and draws the attention of onlookers from a nearby bridge. One man gets out of his car to go break up the fight just as the woman in the car radios one of the blue-skinned "Deathnoids" to transform. One of the blue-skinned men then grins at Takeshi before morphing into a strange insect-like warrior who quickly bests Takeshi. The man trying to stop the fight rushes toward them and calls out, but the mutant throws Takeshi into the water before running away with the other thugs as the woman's car pulls away. The man pulls Takeshi from the water, and recognizes him as the new High School Wrestling Champion.

Takeshi later reads a news article about being found unconscious in the newspaper after being patched up from the incident. He angrily wads up the paper and goes to dinner with his mother, where they discuss his desire to become stronger and fight professionally for money and fame. Akiko slaps him for this but quickly apologizes, prompting Takeshi to reveal that he had hoped to become famous to that wherever Ichiro was, he might see his son and come home. With this in mind, Takeshi considers that he has no choice but to do his best at all costs. Akiko begins to cry, and Takeshi goes for a jog, during which he comes across a small brown puppy. On a nearby bridge, a bruised Shosuke consoles Jun before Takeshi comes toward them with the dog in his arms. He gives it to his sister, and it licks her face as she and Shosuke remark on its cute nature. Takeshi then gives Shosuke a pep talk before walking home with Jun on his shoulders.

Takeshi later went to Omiya laboratories to speak with the doctor, who shows him a book about Deva Datta, an Indian Yogi who could perform many miraculous feats like walking on water. Takeshi is skeptical, but Omiya informs him that many years ago, he and Ichiro had gone to see the miraculous holy man, and knew his feats were no illusion. He further suspects that the man may not only be able to help Takeshi gain the strength he seeks, but give him information on the whereabouts of his father. Takeshi quickly travels to India, where he is dropped off by a car in the mountains. Elsewhere in the mountain range, two helicopters land at a compound where their cargo of many identically dressed, bald and blue-skinned prisoners are marched into a mysterious building, ushered by Deathnoids in black uniforms. They are observed via viewscreen by the nefarious Mr. K, whom the mystery woman Fairie Rosé apologizes to for the mishap in Japan. He dismisses her, and the two praise their overlord Emperor Dongolos and their organization, the Die-Die Gang.

Takeshi makes it to a plateau after scaling a cliff, and comes face to face with a dimwitted Deathnoid. He calls reinforcements who shoot Takeshi dead with machine guns before kicking him over the edge of the cliff. Back at home, Akiko fears for Takeshi's life after dropping a plate. Vultures circle Takeshi's corpse as a mysterious multicolored light from a nearby peak arrives at the scene, revealing the form of Deva Datta within. He chants over the boy's body before phasing a hand into his flesh and pulling out a handful of bullets. After this, he uses his power to heal Takeshi's wounds and repair the bullet holes in his clothing before restoring him to life. Takeshi awakens in awe of Deva Datta, and quickly remembers dying and is confused about this. Deva Datta addresses him, recognizing him as Takeshi Yamato, son of Ichiro Yamato, and agrees to train him, and teach him the secrets of Rainbowman if he can follow him back to his mountain home.
